With the arrival of Kaeson, his family was complete! Not too long after his birth, they scheduled their autumn newborn family photos (along with dog Lily). We had a perfect day in Indian Battle Park as the first fall colours were coming in.

Kaeson’s big brothers were so good with him, though he was usually still happiest in Mom’s arms! He did so great for his first photoshoot.

Jen and Tim got all of their adult kids and grandchildren together for three generations of extended family photos. We hit the perfect date in autumn where the first batch of leaves in Indian Battle Park had turned orange, which doesn’t last for very long! They brought along the family dog Cooper, and their son and his partner even brought along their adventure cat!

Most of the session turned into an hour of playing for their two grandkids who were doted on by everyone there :)

When Joellen and Kurtis planned to move from Alberta to Nova Scotia, they wanted to do something special to remember the area where they spent so many years raising their family. Their smoky Waterton family photos took place just before their big move while they were celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Luckily we could still see enough of the mountains through the smoky haze!

The family turned their photoshoot into an adventure by staying nearby overnight and then meeting me in the morning at the Prince of Wales Hotel. After some posed photos at the cliff behind the hotel, we went for a little hike around the beach below so the kids could play and let out their energy. Plus, we still had amazing views of the mountains!

I will always say yes to family photos with dogs! Prescilla, Dane, Levi were fairly new to Lethbridge when they booked their portrait session. Getting photos in your new city is a great reason to have a photoshoot! They brought along their large but absolutely sweet dogs Ozzy & Butch who had pretty much the best time ever being able to run around with sticks and go swimming in the lake at the university. I love seeing the relationship between kids and their dogs, and Levi was so great with them! (They even tried to climb in trees after him.)

I can’t wait to see this family again at their wedding!

Gerda and Jonathan wanted to go on a day trip adventure with their kids, so we decided to do Coleman summer family photos instead of sticking around the Lethbridge area! It was a really big deal to me to get to photograph them again and keep following as their family grows. The couple was celebrating their 11 year wedding anniversary and were one of the very earliest weddings I got to photograph!

Their family loves the Crowsnest Pass, so we travelled to the Miner’s Path to get beautiful forest shots. The location is very dog friendly as locals walk their dogs there, so it was perfect for their dog Bella the puggle to come along! The kids loved climbing on the fallen logs, finding the best sticks the pathway could offer, and chasing each other to get those sticks.

Skye and Dave are getting married at their farm next month, and decided to give it a test run by doing their engagement photos there first! They did their Coaldale farm engagement photos with the help of their energetic dogs Kip and Kyra. It is honestly pretty funny how clingy the dogs were! They took serious bribery to get them out of the photos.

There were so many beautiful spots on the farm that we’ll have no shortage on the wedding day! Skye and Dave are super sweet together and both have such happy personalities. Any serious moments we tried for didn’t last very long before turning into big smiles again. :)
