A Collection of Farm Animals

Southern Alberta farm animals chicken photos

Last year I second shot a rural outdoor wedding with a friend and loved sneaking away between events to photograph all the critters who lived at the farm! Their large collection of chickens roamed around, keeping an eye on our doings, while the sweet horses watched from afar.

Quintina & Mike, Readymade Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

During a rare weekend off last summer, I had the opportunity to second shoot for Melanie at Photo Expressions Photography for Quintina and Mike’s wedding. Quintina and Mike had a Readymade outdoor wedding ceremony followed by portraits around the Coaldale area. They were such a happy couple with just as happy friends and spent the whole day smiling and laughing! Even better, they brought their puppy along for the whole day.

Congratulations, Quintina and Mike!

Crowsnest Pass winter maternity photos

A few months before their due date, I travelled down to Jena and Daniel’s mountain home for their Crowsnest Pass winter maternity photos. It’s so exciting to see them starting their family! Rufus, who has grown a lot bigger since their wedding, also got to be included in a bunch of photos. While he waited his turn, he got to excitedly zoom around in the snow outside.

Once we finished all the warm indoor photos, Jena got brave and headed outside in just a dress! She had a gorgeous flower crown to match the red, which looked so striking against the snow. Her and Daniel snuggled close to stay warm in the freezing temperatures and we loved the big fluffy snowflakes that fell around us.

Lethbridge Santa pet photos

This year Santa and I teamed up with Pet Valu West Lethbridge for special Christmas photos with all kinds of pets! In addition to our usual dogs and handful of cats, this year we also had a hedgehog and a gecko. There was also an appearance by a few furry members of the RCMP! Thanks to everyone’s generous contributions, we raised nearly $400 for A Better Chance Animal Rescue!

Pavan Park summer family photos

We had a bit of trouble getting things going for Lucas and Shayna’s Pavan Park summer family photos with their parents. The first day we were ready to go in the parking lot when a thunder storm hit! A few weeks later we tried again and had a beautiful evening in the river bottom that wasn’t too hot. :)

I last saw Lucas when he was a couple years old. He’s pretty happy to have a little sister to play with now! He’s well on his way to teaching her important life skills like blowing raspberry sounds. They both had a great time chasing their big dog Bear around Pavan Park. He is so patient with them and loves exploring with his family. At our last session, he ended up going for a swim halfway through the photos. This time we managed to keep him dry ;)

Barnwell family pet photos

Tayler had a new addition to add to her annual Barnwell family pet photos this year… their adorable Husky Winter! Winter joined their family a year ago and is a perfect companion to the other seasonal dogs, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Winter fits right in and loves playing with her fur siblings! I love coming out to Tayler’s house every year for her portrait session and hanging out with her, her mom, and all of their adorable critters. This year we had to work a little faster because it kept raining. This came as a surprise as it was one of the very few days it rained all summer! Luckily most of the animals didn’t mind being outside when it was damp. The cats were the exception, but it was a little easier to round each one up for a special portrait with Tayler when they were all hiding inside in the dryness ;)
