Crowsnest Pass Winter Wedding [Michelle & Oscar]

Michelle & Oscar, Crowsnest Pass winter wedding

Michelle & Oscar traveled all the way from Calgary for their Crowsnest Pass “winter” wedding. It may have taken place in the spring, but it sure looked like winter! Just days before, and even the next day, the grass had been turning green and there were no more hints of winter. Out of no where came a heavy snowfall warning for all of southern Alberta. We definitely lucked out as a few places had more of a rainy snow, but the Crowsnest Pass looked like something out of a fairy tale. Plus, by the time we headed outside, most of the heavy snowfall had stopped, leaving only gorgeous snow covered landscapes.

The Crowsnest Pass was a perfect fit for their wedding as it allowed them to get married in the mountains and still include family in a special way. Their ceremony was performed at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore by Michelle’s uncle. It was an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family. Their ceremony was so emotional and full of so many happy tears and laughter.

After the ceremony, we explored the Crowsnest Pass with Oscar and Michelle and their two friends. It was fun having another couple as their bridal party because I could get them to be all cute and intimate too (normally that would be a little awkward!). They were so much fun and I loved all of the excitement they expressed over the landscapes. I sometimes take it for granted having grown up there, but they reminded me just how beautiful it is!

Oscar and Michelle are so sweet together and I know they are going to have such a happy life.

Congratulations, Oscar & Michelle!

Casual Waterton Wedding [Michael & Chantelle]

Michael and Chantelle, Casual Waterton Wedding

When Michael and Chantelle told me that their dog Wyatt was going to be a big part of their wedding day I knew we would have a lot of fun! We started out their casual Waterton wedding day with an intimate ceremony at Linnett Lake on the docks with a background of changing autumn leaves and spent the afternoon taking photos around Waterton. I was so happy that they scheduled so much of their day for photos! We didn’t have to feel rushed at all and got to visit so many different locations.

We finished up at Red Rock Canyon just as a few rain/snow clouds rolled in, but luckily it’s still only up in the mountains that the season is really changing! In the evening they held their reception at the old school house in Waterton with lots of dancing and delicious food.

They were so much fun to work with and since they are huge outdoor enthusiasts (both in their careers and hobbies), they were totally fine with hiking to the best spots. Wyatt came along all day and was such a good model, even if he’s a little excitable most of the time :)

Congratulations, Michael and Chantelle! (more…)

Shannel and Travis, Lethbridge wedding photos

I met Travis and Shannel a few years ago at her sister Sheana’s wedding and it was finally her time to tie the knot! The two of them planned an intimate, late afternoon backyard ceremony overlooking the coulees in Moon River for their closest friends and family. The day may have been super hot, but they had slurpees on hand for all the guests!

After the ceremony, we explored just past the yard overlooking the river, took a break in the bouncy castle, and then headed across the road for some gorgeous golden hour photos in Monarch.

They were so much fun to work with and never took themselves seriously. Everything involved such youthful joy (I don’t plan on ever growing up, so I appreciate this!) and it’s not too often I get a groom who won’t argue when I suggest skipping be involved… actually, he may have been the one to insist! ;)

Congratulations, Shannel and Travis! (more…)

Donny and Shavon’s Wedding (working with Brien)

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

I’ve known Brien from Bjg Photography for quite a long time, but last year was the first time we second shot for each other! He asked me to come help out with Donny and Shavon’s wedding in July, which was held on the beautiful grounds at the Research Centre. I spent time with the girls while they got ready in the Coast Hotel earlier that day, then met up with Brien outdoors for the intimate ceremony. (more…)

Attila & Chaylene | A Lethbridge Wedding

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Attila and Chaylene were married this month in a romantic ceremony at the Lethbridge Lodge, which their family traveled across Canada to attend. They were absolutely adorable with how in love they are; halfway through the vows, they got so emotional that they had to pause for a hug! It was a beautiful day and everything went perfectly how they planned it. And what an easy day for me; they are ridiculously photogenic! (more…)

Peter & Kimberly | A Rosebud Wedding

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

What a treat to do this wedding! I’ve casually known Kim for quite a few years now, but we were more online friends even though we lived in the same city. Then she moved away, and met Peter, and fell in love! I was a little gushy to learn that they met on an online dating site because (1) that’s a great way to fall for someone’s personality first, and (2) that’s how Cam and I met :)

Though the two are based out of Calgary/Edmonton now, they wanted to have a cute small town wedding and spent many months looking for just the right place. They settled on Rosebud, Alberta, which is pretty much the cutest small town I have ever seen. Everything is extremely well maintained and it has a thriving art scene despite being nearly in the middle of no where. As luck would have it, some classic car enthusiasts were having a get together in Rosebud that day and offered their chauffeur services at no charge. So generous!

Since Peter is an actor and both are huge music enthusiasts, their intimate wedding was full of artists, actors, and musicians (my kind of people!) and everyone was so warm and generous that it didn’t take long for me to feel like family. I had so much fun with everyone, for as you will see, they don’t take everything quite so seriously… :) (more…)
