This was a huge year for our young local artists… the Art’s Alive gallery show got to be in person for the first time since COVID!

This was the 45th Annual Art’s Alive and Well in the Schools presented by the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. The show featured work from Lethbridge area K-12 students and included an awards presentation for some of the outstanding young artists. It was an amazing opportunity for students to see their work professionally on display in an art gallery, rather than only online or at local construction sites.

As a graduate of the University of Lethbridge’s fine arts faculty, I love seeing art and young artists supported and encouraged like this in our community. It makes the city so much more vibrant!

Mikka’s mom went all out with a day of surprises for her birthday! Her Sweet 16 photos with me were one of many stops she made with her mom throughout the day. Earlier she had been pampered with a shopping trip and hair and makeup for her photoshoot, and after seeing me, they were off to a surprise location for dinner!

We did the photos around the SAAG to make use of an urban setting with a little bit of “greenery” (what you can call that in January, anyway!). The weather was fantastic for Mikka to show off her teal dress, and she totally rocked her photoshoot!

Jennifer and David have already built a life together but decided to make it official this year! They threw a party for their family and closest friends by having a Southern Alberta Art Gallery wedding.

The years they’ve already been together have only made their love grow deeper. They had the hugest grins when they saw each other during their first look and constantly fought back tears during the ceremony at the SAAG. They are such a sweet couple and are so perfect for each other.

Their reception at the SAAG was filled with lots of dancing and laughter. Instead of a sit down dinner, they served a spread of creative (and delicious!) appetizers from LA Chefs, allowing their guests more time to mingle.
