Adelaide’s parents moved back here to be closer to family, so that meant I got to see her right away for her Lethbridge newborn family photos once she arrived! We did the photos at their home to keep everyone warm and her big sister Daenerys got to help out every step of the way. Adelaide was so chill through her photoshoot. Even though she stayed awake until the very end, she barely fussed. These sisters must love photography!
Cindy and Darrin had an intimate Lethbridge backyard wedding ceremony at their home. They invited only their children and grandchildren to keep it extra special, and although their families are already essentially merged, this was the day to make it official!
I was thrilled when Cindy asked for advice on when to do everything to make it look as amazing as possible. We were able to get their portraits done just before dinner so their ceremony would be close to golden hour. With the help of the smokey skies, we ended up having the golden hour look for nearly the entire time we were with them!
We started out with photos in Sunridge at the waterfall and then finished in their beautiful large yard just as their guests started to arrive. They did an amazing job transforming their yard into a dreamy wedding venue covered in artificial flower arrangements and tents to divide the ceremony and reception spaces. Everything about the wedding was DIY and so well done. (p.s. I’m always so grateful when couples choose us to be the big splurge on weddings like this!)
The highlight of their celebration was definitely their relationships with their families. We fortunately had extra time to capture tons of candids of everyone laughing together and the little kids having a blast at their grandparents’ party.
Bob and Darlene dated back in high school but things didn’t work out between the two of them. After going their separate ways in life, they eventually reunited and realized they were meant to be together after all! :) I love stories like this!
While Bob was in Lethbridge visiting Darlene, they set aside some time for couples photos in Riverstone and Sunridge on the west side. It was so fun watching them together; they totally act like they are still sweethearts in high school. I love seeing people so in love with each other like this!
It’s a little harsh to start your wedding day needing an EpiPen, but Cheryl and Josh are tough and had an awesome day despite the rocky beginning (plus it sure adds to the quirky memories of the day!). We had perfect weather for a sunny Lethbridge autumn wedding, with beautiful fall colors to make their vivid wedding party outfits really pop.
After the girls got ready, we headed over to the Immanuel Lutheran Church on the west side where the minister worked awesome Star Wars jokes into the ceremony. The west side had so many amazing locations this autumn that we didn’t even have to leave it until it was time to go to their reception at the Italian Canadian Club :)
There were a few wedding party crossovers from previous weddings and as usual, they were such a fun group! Cheryl and Josh are amazing in front of the camera and you can tell how madly in love they are every moment they are together.
I’m so excited for this wedding! (And not just because they belong to the tall people club like me.) Heather and Dan are getting married this autumn and decided their family was pressuring them enough and it was finally time for engagement photos! They are so fun to work with and ridiculously easy to make laugh, plus it doesn’t hurt that they are super good looking ;) (more…)
Remember this cuteness? Well, it’s been a few years and they have a new baby brother, and they’ve both become quite a bit taller! I met up with the family at the always awesome Sun Ridge playground and let the girls play while the rest of us chased after them. Kids do such awesome things when you aren’t placing any expectations on them (or they think you aren’t looking!). (more…)
