Roy received his Masters from the University of Lethbridge this weekend, and I met up with him and his lovely family just after the convocation to capture some photos to celebrate this huge accomplishment! His wife and girls were so sweet, and you could instantly tell how supportive they have been of him finishing his degree. Roy has definitely chosen the right career path for him and I wish him and his family all the best :)

Many many years ago I met “Pleasant” Ross through our mutual friends in the university’s music department, and when I met Erin I was thrilled to find out she perfectly matched him in charm (she is officially “Pleasant Erin” now). The two were married at the Galt, which is always one of my favorite places in Lethbridge, and had their wonderful, silly friends standing up along with them. All the tears Erin and Ross fought back during the ceremony had me emotional too, and it’s always much stronger when I know the people!

I had so much fun with them all day, and their bridal party never failed to keep me entertained (I was delighted the week after when, second shooting for Michael, one of the same groomsmen showed up in that bridal party!)

The reception was a fantastic party where everyone was full of energy and had so much fun (the candy bar may be to blame for some of that). Normally I don’t post a ton of reception photos, but in this case I couldn’t resist :)

Mike and LeeAnna had a beautiful wedding at the beginning of July; we had a gorgeous day to work with and these two were radiating so much love that you couldn’t help but be totally happy around them! When I first met them I loved how cute they were and thought they had two of the most likeable personalities I’ve ever come across.

LeeAnna and Mike chose to see each other before the ceremony, which is always my favorite thing to do to get the most genuine emotions. They were so lost in each other when they first walked up and made contact that I felt bad to interupt them when it was time for posing!

When their bridal party showed up, we took everyone out to play, and Jan Tajcnar helped me out for the day for her usual sneaky paparazzi photos. (more…)

The weather may have forced us inside, but I had a great time taking graduation photos with Zack and Amanda, as well as Zack’s mom and dad. Zack has exceptional taste, as is evident by his white tux, and Amanda’s tastes are quite outstanding as well with the choice of her gorgeous sparkley blue dress. It was such an honor to get to photograph Andrew and Julie’s wedding. I’ve known both of them since before they even dated, was let in on the proposal so I could video tape it, and now was able to be an important part of their special day. They are two very amazing people and compliment each other so well, and I had so much fun spending the day with them! Their families are generous and crazy like they are and I felt so welcome even though it was my first time meeting most members of the bridal party. Best part, Dino was the MC for the reception!

We have all missed Andrew while he teaches in Japan, and are sad to lose Julie to Japan now too, but I am so happy they can finally be together again! (I’ll have to put Japan on my ‘places to visit’ list.)

I’ve known Dawn and Gregg for several years now, so it was such an honor to be asked to photograph their wedding. Gregg had wanted a big traditional wedding while Dawn had wanted to elope, so they compromised with a quaint winter wedding instead! I had a great day with them and couldn’t have asked for a better shoot :)
