Lethbridge snowy family photos

What a fun first session of 2016! With a coating of fresh snow in Indian Battle Park, I got to meet little Brooklyn and her whole family on this nice warm day. She brought along her mom, dad, and both grandmothers for her Lethbridge snowy family photos. She was absolutely adorable, especially in her pink and white cowgirl outfit. Brooklyn had the best full body laughs and is such a happy kid. My fake fart sounds were a big hit for getting those big laughs out of her! Even though it was a little cold for her, she was such a great sport and had fun playing in the snow by the High Level Bridge with her family.

Lethbridge extended family Christmas photos

It means so much when families invite me into their homes during their limited reunion time together. The Major family had all of their children and grandchildren down in Lethbridge for the holidays and decided it was a great time to get some extended family Christmas photos. This family is hilarious and I loved all the goofy photos they wanted to do (each serious photo needed a goofy equivalent, of course!). Their interactions are so amazing and they really feed off each other’s creative energy.

Pincher Creek Bloomin’ Inn Winter Wedding [Mike & Lanna]

Lanna & Mike, Pincher Creek Bloomin' Inn winter wedding

Mike and Lanna’s Pincher Creek Bloomin’ Inn winter wedding was everything they hoped it would be thanks to the amazing snowy day we had! The Bloomin’ Inn was the perfect venue for the rustic theme they wanted, especially since it’s a working cattle ranch and Mike is also a cattle farmer. While the venue matched their lifestyle, they wanted a different landscape than they are used to seeing and chose to get married closer to the mountains, later having their reception at Castle Mountain.

The weather really delivered to give Lanna the snowy winter day she wanted. Thick snow hugged all of the tree branches, fluffy flakes fell, and not a trace of wind could be found (which is so unusual for Pincher Creek!).

I thought Lanna giggled a lot at their engagement photos, but her wedding day was much more exciting, eliciting endless laughter and huge grins from her! I love how emotional she is and how over the top happy they are together. This postive energy made it easy to hike through several feet of snow to find the prettiest spots on the ranch, and Lanna came prepared with her big boots.

After having their first look out in the snow, their guests started to arrive for their ceremony inside the Bloomin’ Inn.

Congratulations, Mike and Lanna!

Lethbridge early winter family photos

Gemma and Chris brought their kids out for Lethbridge early winter family photos at the university lake, along with their cute Labrador puppy Bear. Hoping to avoid the snow, Gemma totally lucked out with her choice of session date and the weather felt like autumn! This family gives each other such awesome big hugs, which then give them the biggest smiles :)

Bear is definitely a happy part of the family and the kids light up playing with him. He loved all the animal smells at the lake!

Warm Winter Engagement Photos [Sharon & Richard]

warm winter engagement photos

When Sharon and Richard scheduled their session a few months ago to take place in December, we definitely weren’t expecting such warm winter engagement photos! Indian Battle Park felt like it was going through spring a whole season early with all the bright sunshine and total lack of wind.

Sharon and Richard are such a perfect couple, giggling like lovestruck teenagers every time they look at each other. I loved seeing how comfortable and snuggly they are together!

Crowsnest Pass winter engagement photography

Jena and Daniel are getting married in Kananaskis next summer and I finally got to meet them in person for their engagement session. I love having a chance to do Crowsnest Pass winter engagement photography; the snow stays so thick all winter and the beautiful streams in the area turn such a gorgeous blue. I was thrilled when they wanted to go to Miner’s Path for the first part of their photos because it’s so pretty there this time of year. Jena was home from school for the weekend and it was a perfect time to get photos from a different season than their wedding will be. They are so ridiculously adorable… I can’t wait to see how amazing they will look when they aren’t pretending to enjoy being in freezing wind ;)
